Who this is for

This might be you if...

Nothing is catastrophically wrong. Something just isn't right anymore.

Built for police first. If you're not in the job and this sounds like you, the door's open.

Most officers who get in touch are not in crisis. They are functioning well, often very well, and still carrying a question about their own life that never gets airtime between shifts. It sits behind the overtime, the next course and the next rotation, and it is easy to keep putting off because nothing is forcing the issue.

Coaching gives that question a time, a structure and a person who understands the job without being part of your chain of command. You will not be told what is wrong with you, and you will not be sold anything. We work out what you actually want next, then build a plan that still works on a rotating roster.

Five sandstone stepping stones crossing still water at first light, the Continuum Pathway

The five phases

How coaching works

Five phases. You don't have to start at the beginning. We start where you are.

Five stepping stones rising from left to right, labelled Clarity, Direction, Decision, Stability and Continuum ClarityDirectionDecisionStabilityContinuum 0102030405
01Clarity, the first phase of the Continuum Pathway

Clarity

Work out what's actually going on underneath.

Finished when you can say in one sentence what isn't working

02Direction, the second phase of the Continuum Pathway

Direction

Decide what you want, not what's expected of you.

Finished when you know what you're moving towards, not just away from

03Decision, the third phase of the Continuum Pathway

Decision

Stay, go, step up, step sideways, or change something outside work.

Finished when you've made a call you can explain to yourself

04Stability, the fourth phase of the Continuum Pathway

Stability

Build boundaries and habits that work in your actual life, not an imaginary perfect week.

Finished when the change survives a rough week

05Continuum, the fifth phase of the Continuum Pathway

Continuum

Keep going without needing me.

Finished when you've got a plan for the next chapter and you trust yourself to run it

The phases run in order, but most people do not begin at the first one. If you already know what isn't working, we start at Direction. If the call is made and the hard part is living with it, we start at Stability. Every phase has its own finishing line, so you always know where you are and what done looks like.

One program, your focus

What we can work on

There is one coaching program. These are examples of the areas we may work on, depending on what you need. Most people recognise themselves in more than one, and that is fine: the first session agrees a clear focus before anything else happens.

Career and what's next

Promotion, transfers, specialist roles, staying, leaving, or building something outside policing before you decide.

Identity and confidence

Who you are outside the job, what you want for yourself, self-trust and confidence beyond professional competence.

Identity and confidence

Boundaries and life outside work

Saying no, switching off from the role, relationships, priorities and building a life that isn't simply what's left after work.

Making the job work for you

Dealing with difficult people and workplace politics, feeling overlooked or managed rather than supported, and staying motivated on your own terms. Or working out, clearly, whether it's time for something else.

Not sure where to start?

We don't force your situation into a package. We work out what needs to change and start there. The coaching for police officers page has a short table that matches common situations to a starting point, and the quick chat does the rest.

The coaching program

Police Coaching with The Continuum Pathway

Four sessions across eight weeks to get clear on what's not working, decide what you want to change and build a practical way forward.

This isn't four conversations for the sake of talking. The aim is movement: greater clarity, a decision where one needs to be made, and a plan that works in your actual life.

Each session has a job. The first agrees the focus and what you want to be different by week eight. The middle two do the deciding and the testing. The last one turns it into a plan you can run on your own, rostered weeks included.

Straight answer

Is coaching the same as counselling?

No. Coaching is for deciding and changing things, not for treating anything. Aimee is not a psychologist or counsellor, and saying so plainly is part of doing this properly.

Coaching suits officers who are coping at work and ready to move on a career, identity or boundary question. It is not the right support during a crisis or where clinical care is needed, and if that is what the first conversation uncovers, Aimee will be upfront about it and talk through the right next step rather than take a booking. Plenty of people use both, with a health professional doing their part and coaching picking up the decisions.

CoachingStructured, time-limited and aimed at what happens next: what you want, the decision in front of you and a plan you can keep.
Psychologist, psychiatrist or GPQualified to assess and treat trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety and other conditions. Often the right place to begin.
EAPYour employer's confidential support service. Useful in its own right, and some people use it alongside coaching.

If you need urgent support, call 000 or Lifeline on 13 11 14. Still weighing it up? Read coaching or therapy, which kind of support do you need.

About Aimee

I've been in the job for 30 years

I've spent 30 years in policing, so I know the job from the inside, not from a textbook. I've led large teams, I've studied psychology and law, and I'm a qualified fitness trainer. The Continuum Pathway is independent. It isn't part of any police service or workplace program.

For most of my career I've been the person colleagues come to when something isn't sitting right. Those conversations have happened in offices, car parks and kitchens. The Continuum Pathway is where I have them properly.

30Years experience as a first responder

I only coach officers outside my own chain of command. Before we start, I'll tell you exactly what stays confidential and what doesn't.

Rielle B.

I went to her just needing a quick reset to get my structure and control back, but her genuine support helped me realise my full potential. The trust she builds is unmatched.

Lauren O.

It changed how I handle my money day to day. I'm way more in control now and actually focussed on where I am heading.

Which guides should you read first?

Before you book

What do people ask before they get in touch?

What is the quick chat, and is it really free?

Yes. It is fifteen minutes, free, with no pitch. You describe what you are facing, Aimee asks a few questions, and you both work out whether the coaching program is the right fit. If it isn't, she will tell you, along with a suggestion of what might help instead.

How much does coaching cost?

$1,000 covers the eight-week coaching program, or four fortnightly payments of $250: four private sessions, the TCP workbook and resources, and short voice or text check-ins between sessions. If the first session isn't right for you, Aimee refunds the rest. Returning clients pay $750 for another program within 12 months.

Can sessions be in person or online?

Either. Sessions run in person in Norwest or online, so officers anywhere in Australia can take part. All four sessions are completed within 10 weeks of starting, which leaves room for rosters, court days and leave without letting the work stall.

What happens between sessions?

The work does, mostly. Sessions are where the thinking gets structured; the weeks in between are where it gets tested against real shifts and real life. Send a short voice or text check-in whenever something shifts, and use the workbook to keep the thread between appointments.

What if work ruins my appointment?

Give at least 48 hours' notice and a session can be moved at no cost. Each program also includes one late reschedule, no questions asked, because rosters happen. Further late changes, and sessions missed without notice, count as used.

Will my workplace know I'm a client?

No. Aimee doesn't tell your workplace you're a client and doesn't share what you tell her, subject to the limits she explains before coaching begins. Those limits are set out plainly in the first conversation, so you know exactly where the line sits before you say anything.

Can you coach someone you work with?

Aimee only coaches officers outside her own chain of command. If you are in it, or close to it, she will say so at the quick chat and talk through another option with you, so nobody is put in an awkward position.

I'm not in policing. Can I still book?

Yes. The coaching is built for police and first responders first, but the same five phases work for anyone who is capable, functioning and has a nagging sense that work, home or the years ahead need a rethink. If this sounds like you, the door's open.

I have tried coaching before and it did not help. Why would this be different?

Usually because the earlier work had no structure, or began at the wrong point. Open-ended conversation feels supportive and tends to circle. The five phases each have a finishing line, and the fixed four-session program keeps progress visible rather than assumed.

Do you work with men as well as women?

Yes. The people who get the most from it have one thing in common, and it is not gender. They are capable people carrying a decision that matters, who would rather think it through properly than be told what to do.
