Funding options that make support possible

We have vast experience with Medicare, VOCAT/FAS, TAC and limited WorkSafe claims, and we can explain your options before your first session.

Medicare

A Mental Health Treatment Plan lets you claim rebates for up to 10 sessions with a psychologist each calendar year. Speak to your GP or psychiatrist about a referral to Templestowe Psychology.

Rebates available

VOCAT / FAS

If you are a victim of a violent crime which occurred in Victoria, you may be eligible for financial assistance under the Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS, formerly VOCAT). We are experienced in assisting clients who are making an application.

No gap once approved

TAC

If you or your immediate family have been impacted by road trauma, the TAC may fund psychology sessions. A client must be initially referred by their treating GP.

The TAC will fund sessions to treat mental health issues relevant to the road trauma, and the number of sessions varies from person to person. Treatment plans will be discussed in your first session.

No gap with approved plan

WorkSafe

All WorkSafe referrals are aimed at return to work for injured workers. Claims need to be lodged via your treating GP and accepted by WorkSafe before sessions begin. Sessions are billed directly to the relevant insurer.

Please note: we have limited space for WorkSafe clients due to the increase in administrative processes.

Limited places

NDIS

Although Templestowe Psychology is not a registered NDIS provider, you can still access psychology services if you are self-managed. Your plan manager will be invoiced directly.

Self-managed plans

Private & health insurance

You can see a psychologist privately without a referral. If you have private health insurance you can claim directly on site with us, or you can simply pay the full fee.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How do I obtain a referral?

You can obtain a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or psychiatrist under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. This entitles you to a rebate for up to 10 sessions each calendar year. Your GP or specialist will complete a detailed mental health assessment to prepare the plan before seeing us, so please book a longer appointment with your GP.

All of our practitioners are registered under Medicare. Medicare rebates depend on your unique circumstances and the length of your session.

Do I need a referral to commence sessions?

No. You may choose to see a psychologist privately, without seeing your doctor first. If you have private health insurance you can claim directly on site with us, or you can simply pay the full fee without any rebates.

Is there a waitlist? When is my first appointment?

At Templestowe Psychology we understand the importance of being seen as soon as possible, and we will work with you to make an appointment as soon as possible. Priscila currently has immediate availability.

Is there a gap fee for TAC, VOCAT/FAS or WorkSafe clients?

No. For approved TAC, VOCAT/FAS and WorkSafe clients, sessions are billed directly to the third party, so there is no gap fee.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes. Sessions via telehealth (audio or video) are available on request.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Missed appointments and cancellations within 24 hours incur a 100% cancellation fee, which must be settled before your next booking and cannot be claimed through Medicare or private health funds.
