How can you get in touch?
Contact details for our psychologist in Balgownie are simple: reach us by phone on 0435 165 763, by email at [email to confirm], or through the enquiry form on this page. If we cannot answer the phone during a session, leave a message and we will call you back within one business day.
Many people find it easier to send a short message than to call. You do not need to explain everything. A line or two about what you would like help with, and the best way to reach you, is plenty.
Please do not include detailed clinical information in the form or by email. We will talk about the details privately once we are in touch.
If you are a GP, school or case manager, you can use the same channels to send a referral or request.
Where are we, and what are parking and access like?
Find us in Suite 4 of 154 Balgownie Road, Balgownie (NSW 2519), at the foot of the escarpment in Wollongong's north, about 10 minutes by car from the city centre. [Parking and accessibility details to confirm, including step-free access and nearest bus stops.]
The nearest train station is Fairy Meadow, about 6 minutes away by car. [Confirm local bus routes that stop near Balgownie Road.]
If you use a wheelchair or other mobility aid, or would like a quieter arrival time, tell us ahead of time so the visit can be planned around your needs.
For travel times from other suburbs, see the areas we serve page.
When are you open?
Appointments are available [days and hours to confirm], with some early and evening sessions for people who work shifts or long hours. Telehealth appointments follow the same hours in NSW time.
We are not a crisis service, and messages are not monitored outside business hours. If you need help urgently, please use the numbers in the section below.
Telehealth sessions are available for clients anywhere in Australia. Our telehealth psychology page explains how video sessions work.
How do you book an appointment?
The quickest way to book is online, or by calling 0435 165 763. You do not need a referral to book, but you will need a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan if you want to claim a Medicare rebate.
Intake and consent forms arrive by email ahead of the first appointment.
Our new clients guide explains what to bring, what happens in the first session, and how fees and rebates work.
What should you do if you need urgent help?
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 000. For urgent support, the NSW Mental Health Line (1800 011 511) is open around the clock, and so is Lifeline (13 11 14). Young people can call Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800. Please do not use this form in an emergency.
The NSW Mental Health Line can connect you with local mental health services in the Illawarra Shoalhaven, including assessment by the community mental health team.
If you are already a client and are worried about your safety between sessions, use the crisis plan you made with your psychologist and contact one of these services.
Lifeline also offers text and online chat support if talking on the phone feels too hard.
Contact questions
Do I need a referral to book?
No referral is needed to book as a private client. Claiming Medicare, though, requires a GP treatment plan and referral letter, which you can send before your first session. Workers compensation clients need an approved claim.
Where do I park?
[Confirm parking details.] Anyone needing step-free access or a quieter arrival can mention it on booking, and we will email directions and access notes in advance.
How quickly do you reply?
We reply to enquiries within one business day. If you leave a phone message during a session, we will return your call as soon as sessions finish. Messages are not monitored outside business hours, so please contact a crisis service if you need urgent help.
