Spray it on and wipe it off in one movement and you have cleaned the surface, but you have not disinfected it.<\/strong><\/p>\n          <p>That wait is the line worth checking in any cleaning quote, including ours, and when it is missing the cause is almost never laziness. It is arithmetic. If a crew is given forty minutes for a twelve room practice, it cannot leave surfaces wet for several minutes and still finish, so the scope gets rewritten on the floor by whoever is holding the cloth. Nobody decides to skip it. The roster decides for them.<\/p>\n          <p>We price the contact time in, which makes some of our quotes higher than the one sitting next to them. It is the line we will not move, because a disinfection step that is not given its time is a cost with no benefit attached: you are paying for the product and getting the result of a plain wipe.<\/p>\n          <p>Two practical consequences follow. Surfaces are worked in an order that lets one area dwell while the crew is physically somewhere else, which is how the time gets found without inflating the visit. And products are chosen partly on their contact time, because a disinfectant that needs ten minutes is the wrong tool for a room that turns over in four.<\/p>\n          <p>We also do not fog. Fogging photographs well, and in a general practice with no outbreak and no sealed room it mostly puts product on surfaces a cloth would have reached anyway. Wiping lifts soil off a surface; a mist does not.
